How to reset an old Tiscali Email Password

Hi Everyone,

 

I've had a data breach and now get the Phishing emails, which is par for the course. But I've checked have a been Pwned site and it says my tiscali email has had 7 breaches. I've set up my profile. 

 

1. How do I reset the tiscali email password?, I'm not a Talk Talk customer so I can't use MY ACCOUNT area. 

 

2. Can I delete this account?

Checked my router (HG633) on Shields up today and it says ALL ports are closed  (blue). Last time I checked shields up said they were stealth.(green).

My internet sync is also only 7.4Mbs should be 35Mbs

 

Any Ideas

I can't send or receive emails in Windows Mail. Webmail is fine

I have tried for weeks to access my windows mail on my phone & laptop.  Webmail works fine.  It asks me to provide a logon and password each time. Very frustrating!!

i havent been able to access my tiscali account via my phone for a few days now only via computer using apple mail and as you can imagine that is very inconvenient as my computer isn't exactly portable.

i've read on similar posts to update the private section of my community account with the following: "

  • Email address affected
  • Your Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone number linked to the Tiscali email address when first registered
  • Full postal address linked to the Tiscali email address when first registered
  • Include your mobile contact number and times to call - daytimes when you'll be there in person to receive the password and speak to the email team
    (for your security they won't leave a message with the password and there's no number to call them)"

and so i have done. i was hoping someone would be able to help me get a new password.

Talktalk email not working with outlook / thunderbird - only works on webmail

Hello,

 

Our talktalk email address is not working with Outlook2007,2010, 2016 or Thunderbird.


Tried all the recommended pop and imap settings dozens of times,  yes spa is off and all that.

 

Tried to change the password on the talktalk website - it says password is wrong (when it isnt) so cant get in that way,  Only thing that does work is the talktalk webmail -  very strange. However we prefer to use outlook.

 

Please help, dont know what else to do.  Was thinking it might be talktalk changed passwords but that doesnt explain why we can log into web mail with original password.

 

Wondered if it was because we have an ampersand in address (shouldnt cause this anyway) - so created a new email on talktalk account page and that doesnt work either with outlook. 

 

Help me find da wae my brothers.

Webmail Problems

Anyone know why Webmail is so poor at the moment? Sometimes it will login, sometimes not and you get the login page again. Sometimes mail will open, often it takes ages then decides to time out. Sometimes you can compose a mail then the page fails to refresh. I know these random issues are hard to solve, but it is so flakey at the moment and has been for a few days.

 

The same problems apply using Firefox and IE, and I'm using a dsl.pipex.com account. Mails picked up and sent using my mobile and desktop client are ok. It's just Webmail.

homecall e mail account access

I have not been able to access homecall e mails address for 3 weeks, this is anoying as its my business base contact e mail, after many hours on phone to help center I now have a working TT e mail but really would like to get homecall back!  Have been promised a call back within 72 hrs.

I haven't heard from TalkTalk community for a long time, not since we had the disastrous amount of daily spam. I have just found you in my trash can ( 3000 items) together with other friends who thought I was ignoring them. 1. Why are TalkTalk putting genuine emails in the trash can? You can't be more genuine than this community forum.  2. Where is my Blocked Senders box, which I need to edit? - I wish to see if any friends are locked in there. I was told by the online help to go to SETTINGS/MAIL/BLOCKED SENDERS, but there is no BLOCKED SENDERS there. I will appreciate any advice. P.S. My password was not acepted so I pressed to change it: the email sent by TT Community to do this went into the trash can !!

I am currently having problems sending mail from my gmail account using Postbox (a Thunderbird variant) on my Mac. It worked until recently, and I can still receive mail.

 

I shouldn't think this is an issue with TalkTalk, which is the ISP my computer is connected to, but I suppose it is possible, but anyway maybe someone could help.

 

The error message I get is

 

Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. 

 

I can think of a couple of ways round it.

 

I could send from my TalkTalk account using my gmail address as a reply-to address. Trouble is that  i am not sure that replies would automatically get sent there and not to TalkTalk, and also I would have to manually switch to my TalkTalk account even when I wanted things in gmail.

 

Alternatively, is there a way of telling TalkTalk that it is ok for them to send mail that uses my gmail address. I tried, and it didn't work, but it seems to me it should be possible, given that TalkTalk knows that I am the person connected to them.

Hello,

 

I have the same issue with a lineone email.  My email stopped last week and I've been unable to find a way to reset the password.

 

I have a Lineone account which is serviced on imap.tiscali.co.uk.

It stopped working last week.

 

MyAccount does't recognise my ukgateway email address eventhough I still receive emails.

Hi,

For the last few weeks the connection to my ukgateway email address through Thunderbird was unencrypted. I have now fixed the problem and it is now encrypted. However, I now want to change my password for obvious reasons and I noticed that there is no facility within the webmail to change it. I have also followed your articles to access MyAccount and change it there. I have tried to associate the email account to MyAccount but it says that either the email address or password is invalid. I know they are not as I can access the webmail with them. Please help!

Hi there

 

This problem concerns the main email account  of our service the other one that I am using is fine.

 

Yesterday my wife was trying to access an email from March this year and as we normally can access these from a year or two back I thought I would check mine. I use Thunderbird and have done for years. I couldn't find any emails going back any further than May 22nd in our Inbox (this is a joint email account).

I was a bit surprised and thought well this is unusual and I decided to reinstall the account in thunderbird incase these had gone missing for some reason.

This didn't help and I tried again, this time it wouldn't synchronize at all and no emails came to my inbox.

 

I then decided to check on Webmail to see if there were any emails there and to my surprise all the emails had vanished!!

I still havesome in sent and  in deleted folders but nothing in inbox from before yesterday.

Is there anything that can be done please, this doesn't seem to be a Thunderbird problem as it's the same on my wife's windows live and our android devices.

Cannot access old Tiscali Email address

I cannot access mine and my partners old email address. Its as the following obscured for customer securitytiscali.co.uk, i cant remember the password at all and it isnt linked to my account so cannot change the password. Ive now filled in my community profile. Its extremely important to get this resolved as its work related.

POP server not supported

I have not been able to download tiscali emails onto my iPad since 7 July -they come in fine on my iPhone. Message  is “The POP server “pop.tiscali.co.uk”doesn't support Authenticated POP (APOP) authentication. Please check your account settings. “

I can't send or receive emails in Windows Mail. Webmail is fine

Hi I've been experiencing similar issues myself.

It started mid-morning Wed. 1/8/18 - I had my Thunderbird email client open for a while. One minute all of my emails were present, when I looked again about 30 mins later those in my Inbox had gone along with most of my Folders and the emails therein.

Plus - my emails could be downloaded onto my mobile. Suddenly they had gone and I got a message that there were none to be displayed.

With 2 devices experiencing the identical problem surely it can't be a software issue - it has to be something done by Talktalk - change of settings???

I can still access the emails via Talktalks wedpage - but had to go a long way round to get there as the site never recognised my password.

I'm now thinking about setting up my emails again on a new email client, in the hope that will work.

I can't send or receive emails in macOS Mail. Webmail is fine!

Both my wife and I have not been receiving emails on our android mobiles since 2pm today.  We can send emails fine and webmail is working fine. But the inbox doesn't appear to be syncing at all. We have both unistalled and reinstalled and it's set up based on TalkTalks recommended settings. Anyone got any other ideas? 

Email inbox empty for one account in Thunderbird

I set up a second email account about 6 months ago and added it to my Thunderbird client. Its been working fine until a few days ago when the inbox was suddenly empty, my primary email account still works fine. If I log on to webmail I can see the inbox including new emails sent to that account. I can also send emails successfully. I've checked the settings and even deleted and recreated the account in Thunderbird but still no joy. The settings for the primary and secondary account seem to be identical (except for differences in the address). Its as if the IMAP requests are getting nothing back. Any clues on what may be wrong or how to debug the IMAP requests.
