LineOne email has stopped working

Hi,  I am unable to access my old lineone email.  I keep getting the message that the settings are out of date and password is wrong.  My partner had the same problem with her account and you were able to reset it.  Please can you reset my password so I can access my emails again.

I believe that my old Lineone email account has been hacked. Someone knows the password and is using it to make mischief. I need to change the password but I worry that doing this through TalkTalk webmail will cause a block on my ordinary Lineone email.

 

Can anyone tell me how to change my password through another route? I don't have a TalkTalk account as such.

Onetel Mailzone Email Ongoing Problems

I am now receiving my emails since the issue last Thursday but I'm now unable to send any emails frm Outlook.

 

Is anyone else having this issue, my server settings have not changed and I was able to send emails before the problems with the servers.  Can somebody please help - I've got important emails sitting in my "outbox"

I have been trying to login to my lineone email account since last week but everytime I try I keep receiving a message that the email address or password are invalid when I know I have typed them in correctly. It looks like I need a new password. I have completed the private notes section with the information required. Can you please help.

Hi

 

I've also got problems retrieving mail via gmail.  I keep being told that the connection 'timed out'.

I've been trying to find a way to speak to someone but I've not been able to get through as I have no Talk talk account.

I'm desperate to get my mail forwarded as I reliy on this for my business.

Any suggestions as to how to rectify the situation?

Onetel emails on Gmail

I have Gmail set up to pull in all Onetel emails because I don't want to use Mailzone every time I send an email. When the Onetel email was down last week, Gmail showed an error and Onetel emails didn't get pulled into Gmail anymore. Now Onetel is up and working again, Gmail can't access it. I have deleted the Onetel email from Gmail and started again. It doesn't work. Here is the error message I'm getting:

Server returned error: "Connection timed out: There may be a problem with the settings you added. Please contact your other email provider to verify the correct server name and port."

 

Yes, I have checked that I have entered the correct port and password. My login to Mailzone works fine. I really want to get Onetel working with Gmail again to be able to sync emails across all my devices and send emails from one platform.

 

Any ideas?

I can send emails on my onetel e-mail but have not received any since 09.03.2018  l have also forgotton my password to set up again should I need to set up using a new app ( mymail says download new version), but worried I will lose access altogether and not be able to 're set up.

 

Please advise

Hi - I would like to change the password for my lineone.net account for security purposes. I have looked at previous posts on this topic, and see that there has been the general instruction as follows:

 

can you add your current home number & mobile number to your Community Profile.

In the private notes section can you add the following :

Email address affected

Full Name

Date of Birth

Mobile contact number.

Phone number linked to email address

Full postal address email is linked to.


I have put this info in my private area. Could someone contact me to let me know how to proceed? Thanks

I am still trying (have been since last Thursday!) to update my gmail settings, because the settings listed on TalkTalk's site don't match the ones in gmail which have been working for years.

 

I can't alter the POP settings from mail.onetel.com with port 110  to pop.onetel.com with port 110

Every time I try, my gmail tells me "there was a problem connecting to pop.onetel.com.  Server returned error: Connection timed out. There may be a problem with the settings you added."  then asks me to check with Onetel to find out the correct pop settings and port.

 

I have also tried changing to IMAP, but this doesn't work either.  The connection to the onetel server can't be established.  This is driving me nuts. Like the original poster above, I rely on the onetel mail for work.

Hello,

Like many others, my @onetel.com accounts stopped feeding through gmail on the 9th March. I cannot find the passwords to log onto those email accounts as they are very old (15 years plus). Can you please contact me to re-set the passwords? I have added the required personal details in the notes on my profile.

When I open talktalk webmail with Google, my address and password are already inserted and I can carry straight on. It's very useful saving that time and not having to type them in yourself! 

Is it possible to have that service with all browsers, or only Google?

Correct settings for Tiscali email.

I've seen elsewhere the correct incoming server settings for Tiscali should be:

 

Server name: pop.tiscali.co.uk

Port: 995

User name: XXX@tiscali.co.uk

 

However, under 'Connection security' in email client Fossamail the only selection which sets the incoming port to 995 is 'SSL/TLS'.

 

When selected I next have the following 'Authentication method' options to chose from:

1. Normal password

2. Encrypted password

3. Kerberos/GSSAPI

4. NTLM

5. TLS Certificate

 

None of these selections allows a sucessful login.

 

If, under 'Connection secuity', I choose 'STARTTLS' incoming port 110 is set but none of the five above authentication methods results in a sucessful login either.

 

If, under 'Connection secuity', I choose 'None' incoming port 110 is set. Under 'Authentication method' only 1, 2 and 5 allow login. Then, although I can log in to my account, the padlock icon is missing and I am accessing email via an insecure connection.

 

I'd like to be able to access my Tiscali emails securely as I can with three other accounts, where I have SSL/TLS set and port 995, but I cannot see what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Pipex Mailbox quota

My dsl.pipex mailbox used to hold close to 300 emails before it was full up. Currently I only have 95 emails and it still says 93% full. The size of the mailbox appears to be shrinking in direct proportion to talktalk's commitment to it. As well as the consistent imap server interuptions, I think this is a talktalk ploy to get me off pipex.

Tried this approach on an iPad and my iPhone on 13/03 and has been fine so far. Use Apple Mail to set this up. Use IMAP as the protocol then use mail.onetel.com and smtp.talktalk.net. SSL encryption will be checked and will fail on the first attempt, on the second attempt choose yes for the popup that apppears stating do you want SSL to be ignored. OneTel doesn’t use SSL. Voila, you should start receiving your onetel emails on an apple platform.

 

Looks like GMail will not be supported anymore.

 

I’ve been told to overcome the problem with deleting emails on MailZone you need to use a desktop computer to change the email settings to empty trash folder. This should then work all the time. Can’t delete from mobile devices at the moment.

Onetel talked me through it - so after marking for deletion go to the "Other" drop-down menu on the top of the right hand side then select "Purge deleted" - that should do it :)


Why has my Sent and Deleted folders disappeared from my PC? They are on my mobile.

Set up on mailzone a way to forward onetel emails to a different address, as this would help users to migrate to a more reliable platform, so even more useful if there was an option included to "notify" all senders by "replying" that this process was taking place.

Please can you help me access my tiscali email account.  I understand talktalk changed a number of email passwords.  I cannot get access or change the password.  My recovery email is also not accessible.

 

Is there another method?

Another lineone email access problem

Another customer here with sudden problems accessing my lineone email account.

All login attempts have been rejected with reason password incorrect. I have read the other posts on this subject and have created this Community profile to get help. I put the info in my private notes that Ady_OCE has advised other users is required, I did telephone the help line last week and gave them all the details but have not had a reply.

 

Please help.
