How to reset an old Tiscali Email Password

Hi I’m a recent talk talk customer, but have been using an old Tiscali email address for over 10 years. Unfortunately I have not yet associated that Tiscali address with “my account”, and have forgotten the Tiscali address password. When I tried to reset it via the webmail login screen, I received notification that no password reset details are held for that address. However, it has worked before, as recently as last month when I last forgot the password. Can someone confirm if talktalk have stopped holding reset details for older accounts, and through what other route I can reset the password? Thanks.

Hi,

 

I still have access to an old tiscali email account but have never been a talktalk customer. I'd like the account deleted. Following the advice in similar posts on this site, I have added the following information to my private notes:

 

Email addresses affected

Full Name.

Date of Birth.

Full postal address linked to the email addresses when first registered

My current mobile number

I am in the same boat too. Earlier this week my Iphone 5S (O2) stopped receiving tiscali emails (only - Hotmail and others working fine). I can send emails, my settings haven't changed, I just get messages to say the settings are wrong. I too have tried deleting / resetting / re-entering (both pop and imap) but nothing working at all. Both Talk Talk and O2 chat have failed to fix it.

I have posted this issue but I thought I would start a new thread (as someone has suggested).

 

I am having trouble adding an existing TT email account to both iOS Mail on an iPad and Thunderbird on a MacBook Pro (High Sierra).  I suspect when I get round to it I will also have the same problem on an iMac!

 

Thunderbird (TB) automatically produces the wrong settings when you try auto, so I have to manually change them.  I have adopted the recommended TT settings (for IMAP) and the result is as shown on the attached image.

 

I have checked and re-checked the account name and password - they are correct.

 

I have updated my profile to show the offending account name for TT to sort out.

Email suddenly stopped working iphone

Two weeks ago my phone suddenly stopped receiving incoming emails and my saved etc folders disappeared from the phone. I spoke to someone at talktalk and they talked me through various actions and then said it must be a problem with Apple. I’ve phoned Apple and they insist the problem is talktalks server.

I deleted the talktalk account from my phone but now I can’t even add it back as I get a ‘username or password is incorrect’ message..I’m most definitely putting in the correct account details as I can sign in directly to webmail on  Talktalk. 

My children also have talktalk mail and the same thing is happening on their iPads. 

I’m getting frustrated and wonder if I should just get a new email address, it’s a nuisance to use webmail on my phone as it’s time consuming and the mails don’t display properly.

I have been ahving the same problem as many others - no connection to my mail through my usual mal client.

 

Changed passwords and tried setting up again but no connection. It's one of my TalkTalk mail addresses that's affected so I know the client is still working fine.

 

This is affecting my gmail as well - my pull set up from gmail is being blocked, so no mail to my iPhone either.

I have had a tiscali email address for 17 or so years.  I access it almost daily but have not had access now for over three weeks.  We have just returned from our holidays and have spoken to talk talk who aparently have told us all old tiscali email addresses have been deleted, without notification to the users by talktalk.....really!!!!! An in-house decision I’m told.   

I have all my addresses, photographs, school reports, work information, everything in the files for the past 17years.

 

i need this retrieved.

please note when I try to access I’m told password not recognised, then email address not recognised.  I have phoned talktalk who keep cutting me off,  transferring me to no one or putting me on hold and then the phone goes dead.  Aparently at one point the customer service person could no longer hear me talk.

I have been using the texting service and been told to phone customer services as they don’t know what to do.

i have been told I’ll get a call back which has as yet to come.

I have had a tiscali email address for 17 years or so.

I access it almost daily

As of three weeks ago I have not been able to access it

My email address is no longer recognised

They have no record of me, my address, nothing.

I have called talktalk customer service who have told me, without warning it was decided to drop all tiscali addresses,  really!!!!! 

I have been texting talktalk but they don’t seem to be able to help.

 

I have all my addresses, children’s school reports, school photos and references, work contacts,  for the last 17 years.

 

Can someone please advice how my emails can be retrieved.

My account was transferred over to talktalk when tiscali was bought out.

I was advised at the time as I’m not a talktalk customer the address would not be deleted assuming I used it regularly, which I do.

I’m not new here, been on this forum here 2013 but I need help please.  I am receiving emails which use my email address, ie my address is me@dsl.pipex.com and I’m receiving emails from me@dsl.pipex.com,  all kinds of emails, latest today saying welcome to our company etc etc and the reply address is my address!!! It concerns me as other people may be receiving emails using my address when it’s not me sending them. I’ve had this in the past too. Changing my password does not sort it. Looks like I will have to delete my email address, I’ve had it since Tiscali & Pipex days many years ago.

Not 100% happy with talktalk at the moment anyway so maybe I will look elsewhere.

i would just like to know who I can forward these fake emails to for investigation. Thanks for any help.

Tiscali email on Iphone

I have recently set up Tiscali email on an Iphone 7 after a lot of faffing around.   It now sends and receives emails okay.   One problem that I have is that the emails I receive only stay on the phone for about five minutes and then they are deleted but I want the emails to stay to refer to.  I delete those that I don't want.   I can't see anything that says about immediate deletion of emails.  Could someone tell me what I should do to stop this from happening or point me in the right direction.

Is Webmail as slow for TalkTalk customers as for long suffering Pipex ones?

I, and many other Pipex legacy customers would welcome an answer to the above question. It takes an age for any response on Webmail and I suspect this is only for us unfortunates. Having struggled for what seems like years to get our emails, we are now unable to access them properly on Webmail. When, if ever, will our service get back to something reasonable?

I was unable to log into my Tiscali web mail from the TalkTalk website today. Every time I tried I received an error message stating that my password was incorrect.  I tried to reset it but I couldn't as I've had a problem before and therefore never set up a profile or recovery settings.  It looks like other people have been having similar problems recently so can someone help me get access to my email again?  BTW I can get to the tiscali address on my phone and I have set up a profile for this forum.

Hi

After commenting on another post on the same topic I was asked to start my own thread.

About 9 days ago my emails, after working fine, stopped downloading to my Thunderbird account.  I know this is an issue being faced by other people.

I can still send from Thunderbird, I just can't receive.  Webmail is working fine but as I live in a rural area with dodgy connection when I'm out of the house I can't rely on being able to access emails via webmail and need to store them on my laptop.

For the first 4 days or so I received no error message, my mail just didn't download.  Now I'm receiving the error code 'sending of password didn't succeed.  Invalid login or password' even though my password hasn't changed and I'm sending fine using the same password.

My settings are:

Server type: IMAP

Port: 993
Username: email address
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication Method: Normal password

Mother in law's email address has vanished?

Hi guys.

I'm trying to help my mother in law get her email address working as she uses it for her eBay and is freaking out that it's not working!

She noticed her emails weren't coming to iPad anymore so I checked all the elsettings against yours and made sure they were all correct. After having no luck, I tried to log in via web browser but she couldn't remembwr her password so naturally tried to reset it for her but when I go through that it says to me that there is no reset information?! 

I live chatted a talktalk agent about the issue and they said they were text her within 3 days but not heard anything from them in 72 hours...

I have been unable to access my tiscali emails using gmail client for a while, not a problem as I can use my mac or ipad. However my mac has stopped downloading them, ipad still works.

 

I went to webmail to change my password however it says sorry we dont have any reset detail for you, I have reset my password on many occasions with the details sent to my mobile phone.

 

How do I fix this?

Good Afternoon

 

Can I add a new contact when creating an email to a new recipient or do I have to create the contact separately?

 

Like all of us I have regular contacts whom I send lots of emails to. I can add a new contact when i receive an email from that contact but I cannot work out how to create a new contact at the time of composing an email.

Lineone.net email account stopped working

I am having exactly the same problem. I have had a lineone.net email address for 15 years and can no longer access it. Talktalk say it is no longer supported and that I will have to contact the third party who originally provided it. That may have been BT, but as I'm no longer a customer that isn't much use. I have attempted to change the settings to what is indicated by the Talktalk site, but no luck so far. I'm frustrated, as I had numerous folders, contacts and important documents in it.
