Email not working through Outlook or Ipad

I previously added to someone elses post but just starting my own thread in the hope I will get some help.

I have two talk talk emails, both were working fine through my outlook and ipad for months, on Wednesday one kept asking for password and not receiving mail, although still sending mail. I changed password but made no difference so I deleted the account from both Outlook and Ipad now I can't even set them up again, on Outlook I get the message "we couldn't connect to the incoming imap server"   

 

On ipad I get - "cannot get mail - the username or password for mail.talktalk.net is incorrect. Both username and password definitely correct.

 

I have tried changing settings as suggested on other threads but no joy.

 

Still able to access mail through webmail but it's far from ideal, help?

 


Email body blank in TalkTalk webmail

I've been forced to use webmail since syncing with my email client has stopped but I now find there is a problem with this too. Some emails (not all) show the body of the email as empty but if I download the email and view it locally the body content is there.

Since this only affects some emails I presume that there is something in the email source which is giving webmail a problem (and possibly may be the cause of the syncing problem too).

I'm happy to provide screenshots of the webmail page and the email content to help diagnosis.

Problems with email clients

Hello All,

 

I understand from reading various posts that I am not the only one experiencing problems downloading emails to my email clients, which started happening at the end of last week. To clarify:

 

- The problem began towards the end of last week (week ending 5th August 2018)

- No settings have changed in my email clients (POP3, IMAP and so on)

- Logging in via webmail is not affected

 

I've dialed the TT technical helpdesk who insist that because webmail is working it is not their problem. Quite frankly it sounds as if TT have just hired some incompetent buffoons off the street who hardly speak any English.

 

Can someone please update us as to what is going on ???

This message appears on my iphone every few seconds and I cannot receive email pn phone - I assumed I had to 'renew lease' within the wi-fy settings but this does not work

I'm also having he same issue OCE_Ady and would appreciate if you could look at mine. I can reset password but obviously it's going to my Tiscali address that I cannot access.

 

The problem being that my iphone is constantly giving me the error message too even when the mail app is closed.

 

I tried speaking to live chat to no avail and have just filled the required details in private notes.

Like so many others my email client (Outlook) on my desktop and my mobile phone, can't login to the IMAP server I keep getting the password authentication pop up, Yet I can send from these clients.

I can access my emails from the webmail browser (Firefox) no problems.

Yes I have checked all the ports and ssl settings many times, with no effect.

I have been watching what others have posted on here and tried ALL the steps advised by the "Party faithful", to no avail.

Would somebody please do the "mailbox repair" So then when it fails they can raise a fault ticket.

Maybe if they get enough fault tickets we might get a proper fix/patch to stop this happening.

I have a full package with Talk Talk which appears to work correctly, however, 5 weeks ago I had one of my "email addresses disabled because there is a problem with the account" (which there isn't, everything else works including other email addresses). Cutting a long story short I have spoken to 8 agents via 'chat' and phone, 3 of which were from the technical help department over the last few weeks, all of which promised action and replies would be received via email, SMS and phone calls, however, as you might expect nothing whatsoever has happened.

I thought I would be clever and try via webmail and put in a forgotten password and they said that they would send a link to change the password to................yes you guessed right, to the very mail address that they have disabled.

I found an email address and put my problem to them and they replied with a promise that they would reply within 24 hours. 5 days later I got what I expected, another pass the buck and was told to contact the technical department, which of course I have already done on 3 occasions without result.

I am now at the end of the road, There is a problem with the fact that no one cares or no one knows what to do. This email address "Removed"is important to me and I am the only one who cares. 

Any ideas on how to progress this issue will be gratefully received.

Tiscali email not working

I have not been able to receive my tiscali emails on my IPad since Sunday evening, although they are still coming through on PC using Outlook, and I can still send emails from iPad. I have two tiscali accounts and the message I get on both is “the identity of “pop.tiscali.co.uk” cannot be verified by Mail”. I had the same problem about a month ago and resolved it by changing the settings using one of your earlier posts. The settings are all correct now - so frustrating. I was away at weekend and used personal hotspot from my phone to download emails - would this have caused a glitch?

I have not been able to receive my tiscali emails on my iPad since Sunday evening, although I can send them and I am receiving on PC using Outlook. I have two tiscali email accounts and I get the same error message on both - “the identity of “pop.tiscali.co.uk” cannot be verified by Mail”. I had the same problem about a month ago but solved it by changing the settings according to one of your earlier posts. The settings all remain correct and I have tried switching off and then back on to no avail. The only other thing is I used a personal hotspot from my phone to download emails when away at weekend - could this have caused a glitch?

I'm having the same problem, Mail hasn't worked on my laptop since Friday for receiving mail. I can send though! There are 2 accounts, both work fine on my phone. I've tried turning SSL off and on, and changing the port numbers to both the suggested ones and back to what it was, no luck - has anyone got any other suggestions, or do I need to just wait until Talktalk sort themselves out?

I have a @dsl.pipex.com email address with TalkTalk, my email account has been compromised and I need to change my email address password. I can’t access this in my TalkTalk account, it’s not there? I can see me other email addresses but not my @dsl.pipex.com one. I have used this Pipex email address for possibly 20 years no problem. I just need to change the password and  I thought this would simply issue to fix I have tried everything to get this resolved,As I type this my account is being hacked!!!!! Any ideas or help would be appreciated, Thank you.

if everything stopped working suddenly its nothing we the customers are doing i was using pop3 110 on my kindle and imap 143 on my phone both stopped working i have tried chaging them as suggested and done the personal info stuff too nothing is working

Along with many other people who have posted on this forum, I am experiencing problems receiving my TalkTalk emails. (although I am receiving my Tiscali emails successfully)

Last Friday I noticed that I hadn't received any emails so I logged onto webmail only to see a blank space where my mailbox should have been. I spend half an hour on live chat to no avail but later found that webmail was working. Since then I have been using webmail as nothing is coming into Outlook or my Samsung email app. (although there is no problem sending emails)

From looking at other posts I have seen that other people are experiencing exactly the same issues as me and it appears that they are having their mailboxes 'repaired'.

May I ask that someone at talkTalk does the same for mine please?

I don't have a TalkTalk account but have had and used Lineone and Tiscali email addresses for roughly 20 years since the days when cd roms for internet service providers came free with magazines! My emails were fine earlier this week but now I can't receive or send Lineone emails. I can't access either Lineone or Tiscali webmail. I also removed Lineone and Tiscali accounts from my Office Outlook app in order to try reinstalling but can't do that now. I can't reset passwords as I don't have that facility with my account. Please can someone help? I changed my email address to lineone with quite a few people and organisations when I was changing my broadband provider, so that I could have a stable email address rather than keep changing it if I changed broadband provider!

I am having problems getting emails on my I pad, it says unable to connect to server, I am able to get emails via webmail,

1. System (Win 7) was very badly infected with rootkits, trojans etc.  It is possible that the system may have become subservient to 3rd party spammers.  I cannot prove this.
 
2.  I deleted the TT Incredimail account and set up afresh using the settings defined on the  TalkTalk website(TT), I changed yr password as mentioned on the phone; I verified that webmail worked with the new password.
 
3. As the client system still wasn't working, I set up Windows Live Mail with ther TT account on the same Win 7 computer - still no joy.
 
4. I then set up the account on another computer (XP)with Outlook Express, still no joy. 
 
5. We also have the same problem on the Apple Ipad app
 
So in summary we have 4 different email clients on 3 computers unable to access email.  It would rather imply the probelm with TalkTalk, although talking to them (as usual) they will not admit to anything.
 
Anyone else with TT client email systems?

My email stopped at the end of July.  I'm absolutely sure it's talktalk responsible and changing something, nothing else was changed or updated. Situation now is that Thunderbird is not getting anything from talktalk server and I get timed out.  Talktalk webmail is there, but if I wanted to use webmail I would use Gmail not talktalk.  Massive nuisance since I've only recently circulated people to say I'm not using Tesco mail any more, and given my talktalk address - the changeover from Tesco was not handled well by talktalk, who seemed to think it was nothing to do with them. Now I have to change again since talktalk mail is certainly not working. I've now decided that unless it can work I'll have to change to another provider - talktalk service just isn't good enough.  That's the problem with takeovers - you sign up with one lot (Tesco) and you end up with another lot (talktalk) that you never would have chosen. If someone can help I'd be grateful, but I'm not really very hopeful.

Hi,

 

I've just registered as I' experiencing the same issues as a number of others and hoping they can be resolved.

 

I've recently set up TalkTalk email addresses and set them up on my MacBook using Outlook for Mac, on my iPhone using Apple Mail. I also set up a TalkTalk email address for my wife and set it up okay on her iPhone and iPad. Everything was working fine until 3rd August as someone else has posted but then I started to get error messages.

 

I deleted the accounts from my MacBook and iPhone but then was unable to set them up again. I've used the settings instructed by TalkTalk and can access Webmail using my email address and password. In Outlook for Mac I get an error message stating "Unable to sign in. Check your credentials and try again". On my IPhone I get the message "Cannot Get Mail. The username or password for mail.talktalk.net is incorrect.

 

I still have my old BT email account set up and have no issues with that so the issue appears to be with TalkTalk rather than the email clients. Hope someone can help.

I am having more issues with my email account. Both on my iPad and iPhone. 

Back in June I changed my account from pop to imap and the previous issues were resolved. But now I can’t access and it’s saying ‘can not verify server identity’. The identity of imap.tiscali.co.uk cannot be verified by mail. 

When I check the details it states it’s not to be trusted and expires 21/12/2018 at 23:59:59.

can anyone help?
