I don't know whether this is part of TalkTalk's ongoing problems with Emails but in the last couple of days after only changing My Account password I can no longer send Emails on either my Iphone6 or Ipad using TalkTalk's SMTP settings. This is when at home on mu home wi-fi network. The settings are identical on both devices and had previously worked with no problem.
The SMTP Settings are:
Host Name: smtp.talktalk.net
User Name:myname@talktalk.net
Password: (new) password
SSL; Enabled (it is TLS on my PC and laptop which both send OK) (doesn't work either if SSL is not enabled)
Server Port: 587
Authentication: Password
When I click on "Done" it says "Verifying" then "The connection to the server "smtp.talktalk.net"on port 587 timed out" and the mail stays in the Outbox.
So I switch smtp.talktalk.net off and use my Gmail SMTP server instead.
Any ideas anyone?
