cannot send emails

A PC, windows 10, MS Outlook 2010, hard wire connection to TalkTalk Fibre Router.

A laptop, windows 7, MS Outlook 2010, wireless connection to Fibre router.

Some time Thursday night/Friday morning something happened and I can no longer send emails from my MS Outlook on either machine.  They just stay in my MS Outlook Outbox and a warning message saying cannot connect to SMPT server contact your ISP.

My Talktalk webmail works OK. I am receiving incoming emails OK into MS Outlook on both machines.

I have tried switching the Router off and on.

First contact with TalkTalk, went through all my Client settings in MS Outlook all OK checked the Webmail all OK but still not able to send any emails from MS Outlook.  TalkTalk recommended I purchase a newer version of MS Outlook!

Second contact with TalkTalk, went through all the MS Outlook Client settings, all OK. checked the webmail (even thought this isn't the problem) all OK but still not able to send emails from either machines MS Outlook. Recommended to contact Microsoft support.

Third contact with TalkTalk asked to speak to a manager.  Basically told it was my problem nothing to do with them and my webmail was working OK so use that!!!!!

I could understand it might be my client software if it was just one machine that was affected, but the problem is on both machines.

I have been using MS Outlook 2010 and windows 10 and this machine without any problems for over a year, why should it suddenly stop working?

Any help/suggestions gratefully received
