The email account I use almost all the time has been hacked yesterday, and many people are telling me that they are receiving dodgy mail (that I have not sent), Phoning support that said to change password, but of course I can't as the feature has been blocked. I was asked to send some examples, but of course I do not see them, I just get non-deliveries from a few of them, and have submitted some to the abuse address.
The Talktalk line on passwords have not been breached is clearly untenable. And I need to change this email password asap, but I got the strong impression that the operator had no clue. Asked for my phone number several times and could not identify me (it isn't a talktalk phone line, but has been the same for many years) and I am sure she does not understand that the mail account hacked is one that predates the email account used to set up the broadband account.
It's a waste of time phoning, it just goes in circles, meanwhile my lineone account is sending spam, and there doesn't appear to be a way of submitting the problem by email.
How can anyone continue with this company? They are not being transparent or helpful.
