How do I enable username and password autofill?

Hello,

As per the subject line -- using webmail on home laptop, I used to have my email address and password automatically stored, so I did not have to enter it every time I was logged out.

Any ideas as to why this is no longer the case (I suspect it was maybe to do with the identity fraud/crisis TalkTalk had a few months back) and more importantly, is there a way around it?
