unable to send mail

I have been unable to send any mail from my MB pro for some weeks now.   I have been on to TT who ask if I can receive mail, which I can, and they then say it is not their problem but they try to help me by changing details of my accounts etc.   This doesn't work and then pass me over to Apple.

I then spent over an hour on the phone to an Apple Mac senior advisor who specialises in mail.  She had me doing all sorts of things to try to resolve the problem, and all the time her computer was linked to mine so she could see what I was doing.   We even closed all my applications down, so there was nothing on my computer {how she did it I don't know} and then set up a new mail and tried that.   Same result could not send.   By this time she was pulling her hair out and she was convinced the problem was with TT.

Back to them, same response change details etc, still no luck.

 

I can send mail if I go to TT log in to the mail, which is inconvenient when I get mail on my laptop, so please anybody know what else I can do, apart from going to Gmail.
