Just a note to point out that an inconsistency may have crept in with the latest MAC OS (El Capitan 10.11.04)
I notice that the 'use SSL' setting (which should be set to N) is becoming unset.
This prevents a successful connection.
Unsetting this parameter and everything is back to normal.
