Talktalk clearly are not interested in email - Discuss

I'm sorry, I try to be positive about life and give people the benefit of the doubt.  For the record I have been with Lineone, Tiscali, and now Talktalk for a long time, probably around 15 years. There have been ups and downs, but it has always been good value.  However customer service is important too. I don't go near online chat or the phone now, because their understanding of the problem is so poor, and so the forums have become my lifeline when there is a problem.  But yesterday there was only one OCE working on this board, and today - 21 Jan - not a single query has been addressed by a Talktalk representative. Not one.  Other boards have had 4 or 5 people working on them.  And this is in spite of the fact that there appear to be major problems at the moment a) with the email servers conflicting with many users' email clients forcing them to use webmail, and b) with spam.

 

My impression, based on my own experience and other people's comments, is that they would really prefer us all to go to Outlook.com or gmail, and give them peace to focus on TV packages.  

 

So what's to be done?  Changing an email address you have had for a long time, is such a hassle, but maybe it is time to bite the bullet.  Talktalk, I know I'm not the first person to say this, but your customer service is going to be your downfall.
