Cannot access old screaming.net email

I am unable to send/receive screaming.net emails. I cannot recall my screaming.net password.

 

I have seen a recent post giving help to re-set a screaming.net password. Please can you advise/help?

Cannot verify server identity (map.tiscali.co.uk) - problems with Apple devices

Here is a summary of the current situation - which seemed to start a day or so ago.

 

My IMAC

I got a message appearing - see below - warning me a certificate had expired but I indicated the Mac should continue.  I got another mesage asking me to approve - as owner of the Mac - the change to accept this certifcate.  I did that.

I then continued to be able to send and receive e-mails as normal.  So - fingers crossed - all OK.

 

My iPad

This is where I have had most problems.

 

When I open the Mail app and expect my e-mails to download I get a constantly reoccuring message saying "Cannot Verfiy Server Identity" The identity of "imap.tiscali.co.uk" canot be verified by Mail."

 

When I click on Details I get the following information:

There is no option for me to "Trust" the certificate.  I appear not to be able to do anything.

 

I am able to receive e-mails using the Mail app from people using an alernative Google e-mail address which I set up years ago given my lack of confidence in Tiscali/Line One/Talk Talk but I cannot send or receive e-mails from my primary line one e-mail address.

 

My iPod

I am able to receive e-mails - to both my Line One and Google addresses using the Mail app but - when the downloads have finished - I get this message (and have done for many months):

In a week when I've had several e-mails (when I was able to receive them) tellling me how great TALK TALK are, highlighting how you have improved, what you are going to do to make my life better, how grateful I should be to be a TALK TALK customer this is hardly very inspiring.

 

Never mind the improvements - please get the basics working properly and reliably.

 

Any advice to resolve these problems would be welcome and overdue.

 

(I am able to receive my mail by the TALK TALK website but this is not convenient.  The problem is not an Apple one - it's definitely TALK TALK.)

Cant access my email accounts

I have received the following message " We couldnt access this account :talktalk.You might need to up date your password or give the account permission to sync to this"

now the same thing has happend to the current email account !!

I have phoned Talktalk help department , unfortunatly they just advised changing the password , the system would not accept the old password or any new password !

Their are emails in the file that i cant afford to loose, as they are associated with on going course that im doing .help!!!

POP to IMAP screwed up

While trying to sort out another problem I've inadvertently screwed up my talktalk.net profile online. loud crying face

It appears to send and receive email but won't sync mail to pop or imap clients.

It will send and receive but mail can only be seen via the webmail client.

This situation occured because I failed to follow the suggestions to change from pop to imap found elsewhere on the forum.

I didn't tick the "Leave a copy" on the server option when the client, Outlook 2007, "automatically" set up the pop profile. 

I did a copy and paste to get my email back online but that was the wrong thing to do.

I am able to setup both pop and imap client profiles and while all profile tests complete successfully no mail is synced.

Any help or ideas would be gratefully received Fingers crossed

I have a similar problem. My talktalk.net email was working fine through my Outlook client and then the other evening it stopped working. I managed to get webmail working, but the same email and password doesn't work from Outlook - the error message is, 'cannot connect to server'.

 

I have raised this issue with support twice now, checked all my settings with them and so far I haven't got anywhere. There's clearly a problem. I will have to change my broadband supplier if this continues.

I am really getting frustrated with this so I really, really hope one of you kind people will help me?

 

For ages, I have been using my Outlook 2010 with my Talk Talk email address absolutely fine - no problems sending or receiving.

 

This week (like others I believe) I started getting the password prompt box popping up. It then occurred to me that I wasn'r receiving any emails at all (but could still send ok).

 

I removed the account in Outlook 2010 and re-added it. I use POP3 (as I only have this set on the one device) - I've made sure all the port settings are correct and what needs to be ticked is ticked/unticked (SPA for example) etc... so all settings look to be spot on.

 

Same problem though. I can send fine. No error messages or anything. But - nothing is received. It is all ok via Webmail (sending and receiving fine). I am puzzled! I tried setting up my Gmail account in Outlook 2010 as a test - this works just fine, sending and receiving.

 

I've tried to speak to online chat - to be honest they didn't have a clue so I gave up.

 

I can't help but think this is something at TalkTalk's end because it's occurred afer they've changed the SPA security thing and I started to get the pop up password prompt box.

 

Can anyone please help?

Pipex email server does not support ssl/tls encryption and poor email service

Hello talktalk

 

I still use a dsl.pipex.com email address and the Microsoft Outlook 2016 email client (imap email) on a Windows 10 pc. I have 2 problems with my pipex email.

 

Firstly, I recently saw an article on the talk talk website about MD5 email authentication and how to make sure I had the correct settings on my Outlook account.  Part of this article said users should also make sure they use the ssl and tsl encryption on their emails as well.  When I selected this option in Outlook for sending and receiving emails I immediately got a response saying the email server doesn't support ssl tls encryption.  Do the talk talk email servers for dsl.pipex.com imap email accounts support ssl tls encryption?

 

Secondly, the email service from talktalk for dsl.pipex.com emails is very poor and unreliable and constantly fails to login to the talk talk server and constantly says I must re enter my password in to my outlook email client.  This is a daily occurrence, many times a day. Can this be logged as a fault and resolved?

I followed all steps on Talk Talk guidance pages and according to my devices successfully set up the talktalk email addresses but subsequently recived notification of an error warning that "We couldn't access this account. You might need to update your password or give the account permission to sink to this device."

I then get notification "your talktalk settings are out of date". Could there be an error with talktalk server?

I have existing tiscali and line one email addresses which continue to function on all devices, including a new phone but not the talktalk email addresses. I have had very poor support from technical  chat line and don't know what to do next. Can someone help?

Mail can't verify the identity of the server "imap.tiscali.co.uk".

Is it time for a solution?

I have followed the numerous threads over the weekend, all with similar issues accessing talktalk.net addresses using mail clients., my inboxes (firefox, gmail and samsung) are still  all empty this morning, all ports checked and rechecked.

 Webmail works but try using it on a phone.

Please find the solution to this widespread issue, or provide some assurance that it is being taken seriously.

I'm having a similar issue where I'm not receiving emails on my PC (eM Client app), iPhone (mail app) and iPad (mail app). All my settings are correct for all the apps, as recommended by TalkTalk (https://help2.talktalk.co.uk/md5-email-authentication), and were working fine until Thursday last week (2nd Aug). No incoming emails using IMAP for nearly 5 days now and forced to use webmail which is terrible to view on mobile devices.

Is the Talktalk My Account password the same as the passwords for incoming mail server and outgoing mail server?

Hi,

 

I'm not a TalkTalk customer but I am an IT worker working on a very similar issue for an elderly friend. At the end of last week their Mail for Windows 10 client (IMAP) suddenly stopped working but web mail is working fine.

I noticed the change to MD5 authentication on your help pages and checked the IMAP settings, which made no difference. I then installed Thunderbird, ensuring all IMAP settings were correct and still no luck. To date I have now tried 3 different mail clients on 3 different devices, on different wireless networks and on 4G and all with the same results, which tells me it cannot be the client?

The SMTP outgoing server appears to be sending but the incoming mail.talktalk.net server is not pulling down new mail from the mailbox. The strange thing is that it pulls down some of the mail (up to August 2nd) but any mail items after that date (though clearly sitting in the inbox via the web access) are being not pulled down by the mail client...strange to say the least!

 

I am beginning to think there is something wrong with the mail box itself?


Lost e mail folders

I have just noticed that some email folders seem to have disappeared (alphabetically up to 'E') from my tiscali account. On the remaining folders I seem to have lost some historical emails. I've just joined this Forum in an attempt to resolve the isues - please be gentle with me as I'm a computer illiterate!

since 18 July 18 my messages are rejected by the talktalk server. My email address is .net

I have been round the buoy several times with the help desk.

No email app or webmail work.

 

email not downloading to my outlook email client

Hi

     For the last 4/5 days my email is nolonger downloading to my outlook email client , I have two POP email addresses, nothing has changed at my end, is there something gone wrong at the talktalk end, it started when i got 80/90 emails all at onces which i had previously received over the 5/6 weeks,I have received nothing since, but i can see them on the talktalk email site

Hi,

I currently have four email addresses set up but have not logged into two of them for a while. I tried to access one of them today and was unable to login. The on screen message was:

"Login is disabled because there is an issue with your account. Please contact support to resolve the issue."

The second account I have not logged into for some time gave the same result.

 

So I can log into 2/4 accounts. All four accounts are listed when I log in to manage my talktalk account itself however I am also unable to reset the password of the two problem accounts via my talktalk settings. I assume this is due to the login itself being disabled.

 

Please could you assist in re-enabling the two accounts?

 

I don't know if you OCE guys n gals can see the private notes in forum settings, but I have entered the offending email addresses in my private notes.

Another on who's Emails stopped being recieved on IMAP

We have received any emails on his Tablet (setup IMAP) since 3rd August 2018, we can send ok, just not receive.

 

I have also tried to setup his account on my Phone and Computer using your recommend IMAP Settings, and the same problem is occuring on all devices nothing is comming through since 3rd August 2018 and there is no error message on any of the Computers, Laptops or Phones to suggest there is a problem, they are all logging in ok but just not picking up anything after 3rd August 2018  (webmail is fine). I have been reading here many other have been having the same problem for nearly a week now.

 

Also we had to change the password to get into My Account, and it seems that it has also changed the password for smtp.talktalk.net to the new password (as it will only accept the new password) but mail.talktalk.net is still only accepting the old passsword (and wont accept the new password).

 

Please can you sort this for me and many other sufferers on here!
